One woman’s story

A mother writes:

I never realized how passionate I was about breastfeeding until I was pregnant with my second child. I had nursed my first until she was 2 years old; that certainly was not planned on my end but she wasn’t ready to give it up and I realized one night when she was about 12 months old, as I was laying with her putting her to sleep that my time as her mom was forever but she was only little for a short period of time.

Upon further investigation on a more natural lifestyle I was trying to create for my family I discovered that the W.H.O. (Worldwide health organization) recommended breastfeeding until the age of two years of age. Further articles indicate that the longer a women breastfeeds over the period of her life the less likely she is to obtain breast and cervical cancer, my initial reaction was shock and surprise but than I thought about it a little further; it totally made sense to me.

Breast milk has several different healing properties and can adapt to what the baby needs at that moment. What a powerful thing is mothers have the ability to do for our babies. Because of this I am passionate about bringing forth the knowledge, experience and resources to mothers alike. Because it is my belief that with the right knowledge, support, encouragement and tools every mother can successfully breastfeed their babies.

Send us your breastfeeding story. The more we talk about it, the more we normalize it.

Thank you mama.

  1. I’m still learning from you, as I’m trying to reach my goals. I certainly love reading everything that is posted on your site.Keep the information coming. I liked it!

  2. I’ve been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It?s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.
